If you noticed when people are reading the bible, some even change their way of speaking.
What are they actually thinking? I was there too.
Then I realized Jesus was not like that. The Pharisees were like that.
They saw a God that was so high, too high to touch their lives. They tried to be good with all their strength. But, there was no way they could. But they thought they were good and even that they were following the law of God. And what was worst, they thought they were better than other people.
They see God on books, on religion. on structure, on tradition, on works. But God is not there.
Their hearts were evil. By the way, everyone’s heart without Jesus as the center of their lives is evil. They just do not know it. They are blind.
Jesus gives a tender heart, capable of forgiving, capable of feeling compassion and genuine love.
You may say Jesus is the center of my heart. If you haven’t changed, he is not. If you had always being good, and haven’t seen the need to change, probably Jesus is not the center of your heart.
One day, you will be tested and will faint. Because? We need to belief what the word says, there is no righteous, not even one.
Only God is good. We all need to welcome Jesus to our hearts recognizing that we are not good enough, not strong enough against sin.
We were set free by the blood of Jesus, but to remain clean, we need to turn our freedom to The Lord and become slaves of love.
Why a free slave would choose to remain as slave? Because, they did not trust, they could stay away from debt. They were afraid that if they would go free, they could go into debt and end up with another master. And no master could ever be as good as their master.
So we become slaves of love to Jesus. Because he is the only master we can trust and with him, we fell safe.
