Joel 3

2 I will also gather all nations,
comment: The Lord is directing to every nation of the Earth
And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
comment: The Valley of Jehoshaphat was when King Jehoshaphat prayed to God and God gave him the victory
without they fighting.  Three nations plot together against them and they end up killing each other.
And I will enter into judgment with them there
On account of My people, My heritage Israel,
comment: The whole nation of Israel, not just Judah.
Whom they have scattered among the nations;
They have also divided up My land.
comment: The Nations had divided God’s land.
They have cast lots for My people,
Have given a boy as payment for a harlot,
And sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.

comment: Young children of Israel sold

“Indeed, what have you to do with Me,
O Tyre and Sidon, and all the coasts of Philistia?
comment: Tyre and Sidon, and all the coasts of Philistia took the gold and silver from God’s temple
Will you retaliate against Me?
But if you retaliate against Me,
Swiftly and speedily I will return your retaliation upon your own head;
comment: Tyre and Sidon, and all the coasts of Philistia took the gold and silver from God’s temple
Because you have taken My silver and My gold,
And have carried into your temples My prized possessions.
Also the people of Judah and the people of Jerusalem
You have sold to the Greeks,
comment: Tyre and Sidon, and all the coasts of Philistia sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks to take their land.
That you may remove them far from their borders.

“Behold, I will raise them
Out of the place to which you have sold them,
And will return your retaliation upon your own head.
I will sell your sons and your daughters
comment: Tyre and Sidon, and all the coasts of Philistia were sold by the Jews to the Sabeans

Into the hand of the people of Judah,
And they will sell them to the Sabeans,
comment: Eventually many Sabeans emigrated as far as China and Spain ( http://phoenicia.org/sabaeans.html )
To a people far off;
For the Lord has spoken.”
comment: God has spoken.  It’s like adding His signature and what He has said.

12 “Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.
13 Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe.
comment: This will happen at the right time.  The harvest is symbol of God’s taking and hiding
his people from the suffering coming to the world.
Come, go down;
For the winepress is full,
The vats overflow—
For their wickedness is great.”
comment: The Lord will come when there is too much wickedness to bear.

14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!
For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
15 The sun and moon will grow dark,

That is the same sign of Joel for the last days..
And the stars will diminish their brightness.

What is the reason for going to a church?

  • To bring up the kingdom of God (This is the main theme of Jesus Christ).
Where God is king, everything goes well.
  • To meet other like-minded people and operate with them as one body (one family).
  1. They will remind you Jesus mission.
  2. They will help you to stay focus on it
  3. They will be your partners on accomplishing it.
  • To give by grace what you had received by grace ( Salvation, forgiveness, love, peace and hope ).
  • To make new disciples to continue the mission.
  • For the church to empower you and for you to empower the church  into taking the gospel to everyone.
Not everyone will believe, but everyone needs to hear it.  The sewer of the story through the seeds on all types of soil.

What is real worshiping?

  • True worshiping is to honor God by obeying His words.
  • It’s to meditate on His words and commandments and fear His judgment.
  • It’s to remain calm in the midst of trouble knowing that He is good, He Almighty and He is in charge.
  • It’s to give thanks on every circumstance because whatever happens, it will work for good.
  • It’s to say God is good, not because you must say it, but because you know it.

The hypocrisy of traditional religion establishes that when someone falls, everyone goes against him(her).  I guess that is what the questions is about.

Here comes the point that there is a difference between being wounded and being death.  The church is supposed to heal the wounded and bury the death.

But who are the death in church?  Those whose hearts are bad and won’t give any good fruit, but rather would destroy the rest.  Their hearts are corrupted with evil (They lie, they consent it, they care more about men opinions than God’s) .  They should not be part of the church.  We have an example in Acts 5 about the couple who lied to The Spirit.

On the other hand, the wounded are those who got hurt by other people sins, weakness, etc and given the right treatment, they will get healed.  Their hearts are not corrupted.   Their corruption is just in appearance.  Once they understand they did wrong, they will repent and gain forgiveness.

This is true in most good Christians.

But do the church kills the wounded instead of just burying the death?  As a human institution the church suffers the same weaknesses we suffer.  And yes, times are when the wounded are buried and the death are leading.

But one thing remains true, God is in charge and those who are alive will heal and those who are death will remain death.

If you noticed when people are reading the bible, some even change their way of speaking.

Slaves of Love

Slaves of Love

What are they actually thinking? I was there too.

Then I realized Jesus was not like that. The Pharisees were like that.

They saw a God that was so high, too high to touch their lives. They tried to be good with all their strength. But, there was no way they could. But they thought they were good and even that they were following the law of God.  And what was worst, they thought they were better than other people. (more…)

Jesus teaches in the gospels that sin comes from our hearts to our minds and to our senses and it becomes an act once is consented in the heart.  But he condemns sin, before it becomes an act.

Matthew 5:27-28
“27Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”
As you can see, the sin entered by the eyes, but it became sin by being consented in the heart.
The heart in the bible is often referred as the center of our desires and will power. (more…)

There were many wide-spread lies in the dark ages in the church.  Many of those lies were bound by the reform.  But when it comes to the nature of God.  There is a concept that still persists and preached as if it is true.  It’s not based on scriptures or anything.  It’s just a very defended concept that many support.

This is the saying that Trinity is a mystery that no one can possibly understand.  It’s a way to close the subject before any question may arise.  Whoever even touches it, is automatically considered heretic.  This was one of the main causes of mass killing by the Catholic church based on heresies. Justice

Justice

The chapters 5 to 7 of the book of Matthew is the review of the commandments and the Jews laws by Jesus.

He says that he did not come to abolish the law, neither the prophets, but to fulfill the law.

The Lord understands how people try to play tricks to stop doing what they are supposed to.  The Pharisees and teachers of the law are the best example.  When something seems too difficult, we tend to accommodate it.  This is part of human nature. (more…)

Receive the kingdom as a child

The purpose of the church is to continue the ministry of Jesus

The revival already came when you understood that we needed to be saved and Jesus was our only hope.

Revival is no more than to renew yourself.  It’s to come back to life.  It’s to wake up.

When a person or a church is not in “Revival”  it’s just because it has lost its purpose.   It does not understand what it stands for.

The purpose of the church is no more than to bring the kingdom of God.   This was the purpose of Jesus’ ministry and so the purpose of the church is to follow his ministry.

To bring the kingdom of God is to do the work of God.  It’s to proclaim good news to the poor, to bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim freedom to the captives, release from darkness, from prisons, to proclaim the year of The Lord’s favor. (more…)

Open your eyes

Open your eyes and wake up. The Lord is spirit and wants to bring his kingdom to us through Jesus words.

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned
(Rom. 5:12).
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive
(1 Cor. 15:22).

If we sin because we are born sinners, should our sins be counted as sin?

At the beginning Adam was without blame, because he had no knowledge.  As soon (more…)

2 Timothy 3:

2For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, 4treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. 6For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, 7always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith. 9But they will not make further progress; for their folly will be obvious to all, just as Jannes’s and Jambres’s folly was also. Growing discontent against church

People are angry against the church

There was once a disease called AIDS, still affecting many.  Many people contracted the disease by different ways which included blood transfusion.

There were rumors where many were saying that this was a punishment from God.  The reason for this allegations, was that this disease was mainly affecting individuals of promiscuous behavior, drug-addicts who shared needles and homosexuals.

Later on, doctors discovered that the disease was past from one individual to another by body fluids like semen and blood.

The true is that, it affected many people in the homosexual community mainly males.  Many of them die abandoned from their families and without their partners next to them. (more…)

The Atheist proclaim to experience freedom of religion as an awakening.

The true is that we all should be free of the religion that encourages ignorance.   We should be free of the religion where faith is based on dogmas that prohibit the search for explanations.

When we proclaim the true, there is no fear of being found.  There is nothing to hide.

Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, proclaimed the true and warn us against foolishness.

The conversion to Jesus Christ is the real awaking of our lives.   He make us to understand that the world is all about understanding God and it’s purpose for our lives.   This is what brings happiness, peace and joy.

We know the world is true because it has become reality to us.

Like that song “Amazing Grace”  “I was lost, now, I am found.  I was blind, now I see.”

As a Christian transformed by the word of God and his power, I can say from the bottom of my heart.

“The Lord is my Shepherd, nothing I shall want.”

“I live no more, but Jesus lives in me.  And whatsoever I live in the flesh, I live it by faith in The Son of God who gave himself for me.”

He keeps my soul alive.

Many times, true believe is a process.

We first start by following family traditions and trying to be nice good people.

This is because to our eyes, religion is simply a set of rules observed by nice people.  Therefore, if I am religious, I am a nice person.  Unfortunately, for many of us, this is not true.  None religious makes me a good person.  If anything, it could have the opposite effect.

Most of the time, a dramatic experience is necessary to bring us into the knowledge that we are incapable of being as nice as we believe we are.

Religion involves us into set of rules that if we conform to those rules, we may be called righteous.  The problem with that, is that righteousness is not about following rules.  It’s all about having a good heart.  In other words, is having a natural inclination to do good regardless of what we receive back.   If you analyze Jesus and his interaction with the pharisees, this was what he was meaning by being born again.

The path of righteousness is more like wake up, and know the true, stay alert, do not play fool.  Believe in God and the only way to understand the will of God is by getting to know what Jesus really mean every time he spoke.

The study of the gospels and following them, is the key to the true and the everlasting life that Jesus speaks about.

Part of professing Christ is to understand our priorities in life.

When we know Jesus, he comes to be our main priority.  He is the support from where our lives are hanging.

But, I can’t be sincere with Jesus if I do not carry with my obligations as parent, child of my parents, neighbor and friend.

If someone needs me, as Christian, I should be there for them.

The people who need me the most, are my children.  They need me, to supply all their needs.  They won’t be productive and happy people if I don’t do my job.

My job is to nurture them, to feed them, to support them, to pray for them, and to correct them.

The most difficult aspect of raising our children is to turn them into well-behaved kids.

Eli had this problem, 1 Samuel 1-4.  He was a high priest and served God, but not so his children.  His children did evil at the eyes of
God and he didn’t correct them.

When we have children is not about whether we know how to correct them.  It’s that, we have to correct them.  We don’t give up until we see results.  If what I do is not giving results, I should try what gives me results.  But my child has to behave well.

And one thing I noticed with my own children is that I need to believe that they will listen to what I say.  In other words, I need to speak with authority.  To speak with authority has nothing to do with speaking loud.  You need to be credible.

Do not assume, they would not listen.  Always believe that they will listen, or you will find the way for them to listen.

The secret of good parenting is not spanking neither entertaining your kids, but to pay attention on their reactions and to listen to all their needs.   Teach them how to live their lives, using the most powerful tool that any parent can use.  This tool is the word of God.  This is our manual for salvation and our manual for life and the manual for our children’s lives. Proverbs 22:6

And last, but not the least important, we need to pray for them.  What we can’t do, God can do it.  It does not matter what type of kid you have, everyone will benefit from praying parents.   If your child is beautiful, super smart, outgoing, well behave.  This child still needs parents who pray for him or her.   Only God knows the future, and He can also shape it.

Martin Luther by Lucas Cranach. The Protestant...
Martin Luther initiator of The Christian Reform

Aren’t Catholic Christians? Then, why are the Protestants trying to convert Catholics?

The Israelites, and now the Jews were born as the people of God.  They were the chosen for being descendants of Abraham. They did not need to become Israelites, because they were born Israelites.

Unfortunately, this is not the case for The Gentiles, us.  To become Christians, we need to believe that Jesus is Lord, that God resurrected him from death. Also, we need to repent from our sins and live according to the teachings of the Gospels.  This is what make us Christians.  Christian means to be the tale of Christ.  And the tale, follows the head wherever it goes.

Woman in church (Marry women)

Women and God's plan

The only difference between women and men is our roll in procreation and parenthood. Therefore, our differences are physical and social, not spiritual.

Proverbs 31 lift up our spirits and make us want to be just as the virtuous woman.  We are so exited, and then, we expect even better things from our Lord Jesus and his wonderful plan of salvation.

But then, we find 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 and 1 Timothy 2:9-12.  We can’t talk in the church, not even ask.  We can’t teach.  We need to dress in certain way were certain things are prohibited.

We get all depressed and think, may the old testament work better for women?   Should we rather go back to the law, become Jews and refuse to accept the grace? But hey, one moment!  Paul is citing the law. “34 women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says.”

Why women should continue under the law while men enjoy the freedom of the grace?

Our Lord Jesus came to preach a spiritual kingdom where even slaves are made free.  Where to serve God is not longer a burden but a joy and a choice.

Man can follow what God put on their hearts, but women should follow the law and men rules?  If God calls, should we say:  No Lord, I should allow my husband to go instead of me,  because Paul said that the law said so.

I remember these two women in church saying between themselves that they do not believe a woman should be a pastor.  Well, if God did not call you.  You should not be a pastor, but do not take least all those women who carry the burden by the grace of God and have to fight the opposition, everyday.

My first pastor was a woman.  She handle a large congregation.  That was my first evangelical church, and I am still a believer.  And I know many other people who were also blessed through her ministry.

The scripture says in Deuteronomy 25:4 “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.”

Proverbs 31

15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.

— She is a leader —

16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

— She is a decision maker —

23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

— She brings honor to her husband —

26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

—  She is not only allowed to speak, but her intelligence is
appreciated —

27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

— She is hard-worker and determined —

28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

—  Everyone in the family loves her and appreciates her —

1 Corinthians 14:34-35
34 women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

1 Timothy 2:9-12

9I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

11A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.

It may sound a little silly, but in moments of desperation or frustration, really works to call Jesus and tell him exactly how we feel.

I was in church for many years, and “knew a great deal about the bible.”  I remembered that my pastor told me once, that I was an elderly of the church to my surprise.  And even after that, at one point, I found myself struggling and I said in my heart, I need Jesus.

And I told him.  I said Lord, Jesus, I need you.  I need you to fix my life.  I need, you.

And I started surfing the web about Jesus.  I subscribed to newsgroups about Jesus.  And all I found were people denying God and cursing.  I started talking to them, exposing the gospel.  I started telling them about Jesus.  All the words were coming back to me.  And at the same time, those words were talking to me.

The whole bible started having a more especial meaning.  Every story in the bible was like brand new.  The stories that I heard since I was a child got a special power and sounded different.

Then, the greatest thing happened.  The Lord started working with me.   I never felt him so close.  My prayers were answered, I changed.  Everything changed.  I started seeing things from a different perspective.

So many things that I used to believe, I started seeing them as they were.  I realized that I was believing many lies.

I understood that The Lord truly love us and care about us.  That the blessing of God is always there if we just can see it. Also, I understood that I was blind, that I couldn’t see.  The Lord opened my spiritual eyes.  I also understood, that I was never as righteous as I thought.  But that The Lord could take me through all the way if I just trust him.

I learned that I would never be the same.  I started seeing things differently, feeling more compassion, caring more about others.  I got so sensitive, that I even started liking Opera.  I mean Christian Opera and old music.  I was living every feeling coming from the music.

When I read the news, I prayed in the spirit.  Every morning was a day for The Lord.

Christian Positions that are not according The gospel of Jesus Christ

It’s not enough to call ourselves Christians, we need to follow Jesus teachings and be light to the world bringing up The Kingdom of God. We all need to be born again and allow Jesus to lead our actions and thoughts.

  • Hate to Emigrants
  • Hate to homosexuals
  • Hate to Jews
  • Segregate Children with Home schooling
  • Supporting of wars
  • Believing that worth is synonymous of God blessing
  • Race divided churches

Hate to emigrants: This is contradictory to the hospitality preached in the bible, and original American values.

Hebrews 13:2
“Stop neglecting to show hospitality to strangers, for by showing hospitality some have had angels as their guests without being aware of it.”

Home Schooling and Segregation of your children: Believers are not called to segregate themselves, but to influence the world with their Christian faith.

Matthew 5:13-16:
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? … You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid… Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Hate to homosexuals instead of hate to homosexuality: Christians should not hate to anyone neither behave aggressively against any group.  Homosexuality is wrong, but hate is not going to fix it.  Jesus shed his blood for everyone regardless of race, sexual orientation or gender.  Social and moral problems should be fix by the roots, not by the branches.  Only Jesus gives a new birth transforming the heart.  We can’t change anyone and can’t either push anyone into changing.

1 John 2:9-10
“Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness. Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble.”

Hate to Jews: The nation of Israel is the nation that God chose to put his name over it.  And The Lord those not repents.

It’s true that they rejected Jesus and God made a new covenant with his church.  But it’s also true that while believers in Jesus Christ are the spiritual Israel, The people of Israel are still the physical people of God.

Money as a sign of blessing: Money is part of earthly blessing.  But those seeking the kingdom make their treasure on Heaven where

Mathews 6:20
“But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.”

Race Divided Churches:

  • White churches will allow blacks, but they won’t let them assume positions of leadership.
  • Blacks will stay in a withe church, but would not feel happy with the differences and non intentional but still painful comments of racism.
  • Whites still can’t help to feel insecure in black communities.
  • White can’t either help to feel that they need to lead over blacks.
  • White still think that they are smarter and more educated for being white

As you can see, we all need to be born again and allow Jesus to lead our actions and thoughts.
