If Jesus was God, why did he pray to himself?
Jesus praying to The Father

Jesus Praying to Himself

Some people think that human intelligence will made them bible wizards. But the true is, that even when The Bible is targeting educated and non-educated people, the bible is not mean to be understood according to human knowledge.

1 Corinthians 2:13-14

“13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. 14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

The first step to understand the scriptures, is to accept that you are a sinner. The second step, is to repent sincerely. Then, we need to recognize that all perfect wisdom and all perfect gifts are coming from God. We need to recognize that all men are liars, but God is truthful. We need to understand, that we know nothing, but God has all the answers.

Isaiah 29:11-14

“11 And the vision of all this has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed. When men give it to one who can read, saying, “Read this,” he says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.” 12 And when they give the book to one who cannot read, saying, “Read this,” he says, “I cannot read.” 13 And the Lord said: “Because this people draw near with their mouth and honor me with their lips, while their hearts are far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men learned by rote; 14 therefore, behold, I will again, do marvelous things with this people, wonderful and marvelous; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the discernment of their discerning men shall be hid.”

God is Spirit and his word should be understood spiritually. The problem is that the fleshy man sees all

spiritual things as without meaning. The spirit is known by experience. It’s not a feeling. It’s knowledge. It’s faith.

Spiritual is what is true in our hearts. Sometimes, the spiritual is manifested in our emotions. The reason is that the emotions express what is deep in our hearts. When emotions overpass our reasoning, we can say, they are coming from the heart, or from the spirit. But you can be certain, they have a reason to be.

For example, I can say, this person has no reason to be mad at me. I am not happy with this person’s attitude, but I can’t feel upset no matter what. I just can’t. This can be called love or trust. This is what

stop us from feeling anger even when reasonable we should. It’s not

is coming not from our mind. This is coming from our hearts. It’s a spiritual feeling or probably not feeling, but perception. It’s stronger than our mind’s will.

So it’s God. He is true and we know him. We do not know him because of words, but because we experienced him.

In the passage above, God complains that this people honor him from the mouth and not from their hearts. They are like automate worshipers that are not really into what they are doing. They do it because someone told them to do so. It’s not from their own hearts. They do not mean what they are saying when they sing. They do not do good because their hearts drive them to do so. We can say, it’s from the flesh.

Some people misunderstand what comes from the flesh. They think that from the flesh mean sinful. But, it just means that it’s not from the spirit. It could be with good intention, but not truthful and not from the heart. And because of this, it does not last.

Then, is Jesus God or not?

“Jesus is praying to himself” is one of the many popular comments that men and women without spiritual understanding make. They have no clue of what is God and who is Jesus.

If Jesus is God, why Jesus prayed so much?

Understand once for all, that God is spirit. God is not a man, neither a son of man.

The bible explains very clear that Jesus was praying to the Father “God.” He said, that he was not The Father, That the Father was bigger than him. That he came from The Father.

The relationship between God and Jesus has been a theme of debate for centuries.

If God is spirit, he can never be just a man. But he can be in a man. God was in Jesus.

Jesus is Christ. Christ means the anointed. We recognized Jesus as The real Tabernacle of God. The only way for us to know God.

The canonical Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke &...
The Canonical Gospels of Mathews, Mark, Luke and John
Isaiah 28:9-11  9Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

The bible is more than a collection of religious books and letters.  To us, believers, it’s the road map to Heaven.

We need to make sure, we understand what it means if we want to follow what it says.

  1. I know nothing: The first thing is to empty ourselves of all old teaching, prejudice, and self justification.  Let’s understand, that we know nothing.  That the knowledge we are looking for, is in this book.  It is not in what we already know, or what we think we know.
  2. Genisis 3 of The Holy Bible, King James versio...
    The book of Genesis

Pray: Since we know nothing, let’s ask the one who knows.  Let’s pray, and ask our Father for wisdom, so he can open our minds and we can understand.

  3. Let’s focus:  Sometimes our minds are traveling while we are reading.  If this is the case, let’s keep reading until we are sure we are paying attention to what we are reading.
  4. Word meaning: If there is a word that we are not familiar with, let’s get the meaning in the dictionary.  It would be better to use a bible dictionary, but a regular dictionary may also help.
  5. Dig into: While we read, let’s ask ourselves questions like why, how, where?  For example, if we are reading on David and we find that he was betrayed by his own son.  Let’s read farther and try to figure out why this happened?
We are going to find out that everything seems to have a reason why.
  6. Compare stories: Look for patterns, meditate in the stories.
  7. concordance: If you are concentrated in the reading of a specific passage, try different bible versions.  Try also to analyze the words and their origin.  Also study the historical contest.  What was going on at that time?  What happened before?  What could be the mentality of the person in the story?
  8. Do not try to speculate: If is not there, do not create anything.  Be honest to yourself and others when you share the word of God.  Do not be afraid to say, I do not know.  Remember that this is the word of God, not ours.
The fact that we are Christian does not mean that we need to know what we do not.
  9. Study Help: Also study other books of help, but do not relay completely on any book.  Remember that the source is the bible.
  10. Complement the bible study: Study the history of the church.  It comes very handy to understand our current situation.  Also to study the fathers of the church help us to understand the Apostolic church and what was really the primitive church.

Another important aspect to consider is the location of books in the bible.

If you who are new to the bible, you need to know that the bible is divided into two major portions

The old testament and the new testament.

The old Testament is divided :

The Old Testament contains 39 books.

Pentateuch of first five books of the bible which contains:
foundation history located Genesis and exodus

Books of law: Deuteronomy, Leviticus, Numbers

Then history of Israel: Judges, I&II Samuel, I&II Chronicles, I & II Kings, Ruth and Esther, Esdras and Nehemiah.

Literature or poems: Psalms, Proverbs, Songs of Songs, Job, Ecclesiastes, Lamentations

Prophets: Major and minors

Then The New Testament:

The New Testament contains 27 books which are mostly letters.

4 versions of The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Book of Acts, Book of revelation and in between many letters written by The Apostles to the churches.  Most of the letters where written by Paul.

The bible is a very important book.  To us, believers, it’s the road map to Heaven.

We need to make sure, we understand what it means if we want to follow what it says.

  1. The first thing is to empty ourselves of all old teaching, prejudice, and self justification.  Let’s understand, that we know nothing.  That the knowledge we are looking for is in this book, not in what we already know or think we know.
  2. Since we know nothing, let’s ask the one who knows.  Let’s pray, and ask our Father for wisdom, so he can open our minds and we can understand.

Martin Luther by Lucas Cranach. The Protestant...
Martin Luther initiator of The Christian Reform

Aren’t Catholic Christians? Then, why are the Protestants trying to convert Catholics?

The Israelites, and now the Jews were born as the people of God.  They were the chosen for being descendants of Abraham. They did not need to become Israelites, because they were born Israelites.

Unfortunately, this is not the case for The Gentiles, us.  To become Christians, we need to believe that Jesus is Lord, that God resurrected him from death. Also, we need to repent from our sins and live according to the teachings of the Gospels.  This is what make us Christians.  Christian means to be the tale of Christ.  And the tale, follows the head wherever it goes.

Woman in church (Marry women)

Women and God's plan

The only difference between women and men is our roll in procreation and parenthood. Therefore, our differences are physical and social, not spiritual.

Proverbs 31 lift up our spirits and make us want to be just as the virtuous woman.  We are so exited, and then, we expect even better things from our Lord Jesus and his wonderful plan of salvation.

But then, we find 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 and 1 Timothy 2:9-12.  We can’t talk in the church, not even ask.  We can’t teach.  We need to dress in certain way were certain things are prohibited.

We get all depressed and think, may the old testament work better for women?   Should we rather go back to the law, become Jews and refuse to accept the grace? But hey, one moment!  Paul is citing the law. “34 women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says.”

Why women should continue under the law while men enjoy the freedom of the grace?

Our Lord Jesus came to preach a spiritual kingdom where even slaves are made free.  Where to serve God is not longer a burden but a joy and a choice.

Man can follow what God put on their hearts, but women should follow the law and men rules?  If God calls, should we say:  No Lord, I should allow my husband to go instead of me,  because Paul said that the law said so.

I remember these two women in church saying between themselves that they do not believe a woman should be a pastor.  Well, if God did not call you.  You should not be a pastor, but do not take least all those women who carry the burden by the grace of God and have to fight the opposition, everyday.

My first pastor was a woman.  She handle a large congregation.  That was my first evangelical church, and I am still a believer.  And I know many other people who were also blessed through her ministry.

The scripture says in Deuteronomy 25:4 “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.”

Proverbs 31

15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.

— She is a leader —

16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

— She is a decision maker —

23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

— She brings honor to her husband —

26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

—  She is not only allowed to speak, but her intelligence is
appreciated —

27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

— She is hard-worker and determined —

28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

—  Everyone in the family loves her and appreciates her —

1 Corinthians 14:34-35
34 women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

1 Timothy 2:9-12

9I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

11A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.

China is our greatest supplier and owns about a quarter of external debt.

According to http://www.USChina.org statistics, our country importing from China has increased almot 200% since the year 2000 to the year 2009.

I remember that at the beginning of the 90s, we were convinced that our economy was an economy of importation due to the high value of our American dollar. And China was in the opposite side. It just made a great deal of sense to purchase Chinese products over many American products. It was more expensive to produce than to purchase.

Many manufactures had to close, but many stores were doing great. Now, we see the most powerful economy in the world with an astronomical debt of 13 trillion dollars after the war in Irac. China owns about a quoter of this debt and Japan, about another quoter. We owe money to England, and even Russia and India.

This is still okay, but let’s think this way. The most valuable access of our country is freedom.

We have it and we want to keep it.

A powerful economy guarantees freedom. For the sake of our brothers and sisters and our own families, we should make a big effort of support our country and the other countries that support Christian beliefs and freedom for all.

There is a big prosecution in China, India, Africa and many Muslin countries.
