Aren’t Catholic Christians? Then, why are the Protestants trying to convert Catholics?
The Israelites, and now the Jews were born as the people of God. They were the chosen for being descendants of Abraham. They did not need to become Israelites, because they were born Israelites.
Unfortunately, this is not the case for The Gentiles, us. To become Christians, we need to believe that Jesus is Lord, that God resurrected him from death. Also, we need to repent from our sins and live according to the teachings of the Gospels. This is what make us Christians. Christian means to be the tale of Christ. And the tale, follows the head wherever it goes.
Baptism of Infants
Traditionally, the Catholic church accepts infants as new church members when they baptize them.
Baptism of infant by immersion
Then, many of these children do not receive proper Christian instruction and rarely visit the church. Protestants consider this group as not evangelized. They all believe that the baptism should be voluntary after a firm decision of accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
The reason for the baptism to infants could probably be the popular believe in witches
enchanting babies and small children. But the Catholic church seems to complete the requirements of the baptism with the sacrament or the first communion. They also create schools where the children are indoctrinated into the Christian teachings according to The Catholics. Another popular practice of Catholic churches is to create workshops for young adults where they also receive doctrine and are invited to practice the sacraments.
The power that makes them weak
Actually, the biggest weakness of the Catholic church is it’s great power.
Since their beginning by the conversion of Constantino, The Catholic church becomes not only a religious power, but a political power.
And as we know, in order to implement order, every government requires to use force and drastic measurements. So the Catholic church brought peace to the price of blood. In many cases, it was innocent blood.
There were many wars in The Name of God and torture through the inquisition. “Western History of The 15 century”
It’s easy to judge now, but we do not know what it means to actually live during those times. Those were times of superstitions, great ignorance and rage. People were used to kill and die at cold blood. They was extreme hunger, and most people could not even read.
It’s better to believe that everything that has happened so far, had a purpose and helped to create the better world, the world where we live today.
Today, the Catholic church is still a religious and political power, but their influence is not as big as it used to be. At least, it does not shows like that.
The great Babylon
Why is the Catholic church called the Great Babylon among some Christian groups? Are they nuts?
Revelation 17:1-7 describes The Great Harlot or The Great Babylon. It’s not hard to figure out that the prophesy refers to Rome. But what is amazing is to realize that it also fits The Catholic Church which is also the continuation of the Roman Empire.
Its alliance with the kings of The Earth, the pagan traditions, even Popes were called CESAR in history. They also kill many martyrs with the inquisition and prosecuted believers.
On the other hand, let’s not be blind and understand that since the reform, many things had changed.
Let’s be honest, corruption has extended to other Christian churches and at the same time the Catholic church has minimized some of their blasphemous traditions.
It’s not about calling yourself Protestant, Evangelical or Catholic anymore. Many of our leaders are guiding us towards strange paths. The vision is lost, in many ways. But the key is to stay alert and measure our acts with the plain and simple word of God. The scriptures and the revelation trough the Spirit are our only clear path to God.
Let’s look at the fruits rather than the denominations. Because it’s written that by the fruits we will know them. A bad tree does not produce good fruits and a good tree does not produce bad fruits.
When we read in Revelation chapter two and three, we notice, that even when Smyrna was the only church where not defect was found, The Lord promises his reward to those whoever persevere until the end in every church.
If you haven’t start to study the bible yet, start now. Make sure that what your church is teaching does not contradict the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles. Follow the word of God and the man who follow it. Run away from the bad workers who are only seeking for worth, but do not value the word of The Lord.
