The power of the name.
The power is in recognizing Who is Jesus and acting under His authority.
The power of the name of Jesus is not based on pronouncing the name Jesus. There is no magic on pronouncing this name.
There is no power on calling my neighbor Jesus, just because his name is Jesus. He won’t perform a miracle for me.
There is nothing special on the sound of the name Jesus by itself.
When a someone with some type of power release authority to you to represent him(her). You will say that you are acting under the name of that person. This means, under the authority of that person.
The power is received by faith in his promises and by The Lord himself. We get his promises in the scriptures. When we do not fit into a promise, such promise does not cover us.
So, in order to act under the name of Jesus, we need to be appointed by Jesus. How can we be appointed by Jesus if we do not communicate with him. Well, it’s necessary to communicate with God to be appointed by God. How is this possible? The Lord is still with us through His Holy Spirit and his word. The Lord communicates his will through His Spirit in prayers, by prophesy, and by the scriptures.
If I’m not somehow related to this person, there is no way, I will be representing him(her). First of all, we need to know Jesus and serve him to be appointed by Jesus.
If I am not in good status with this person, this person won’t rely on me. Jesus won’t rely on us, unless he trust us.
The fact that I call my daughter “Queen of England” does not make my daughter the queen of England.
If I use the name of Jesus over an invented character created by someone or myself, it does not makes my creation Jesus. If I invoke Jesus based on a different gospel, then, this is my creation, not Jesus, and there is no power on what I created. But if I am based on what the scriptures actually say about Jesus and I follow it, then I will be referring to Jesus.
It’s necessary to find out who is the real Jesus, to use his power. If the church has no power, it’s not because the power of The Name of Jesus Christ has been extinguished, but because we are not believing in Him as the scripture says. He clearly said, that those who believe in him will do the same work and even greater than him.
12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
