Ministers are the people who represent someone and also people who serve other people. In other words, a minister is a servant that also can represent his master once sent by the master. It also means inferior and minor.
There is no glory on being called minister. The glory of a minister comes trough his obedience to his master. The loyal minister is honored by his master over all his other servants.
Also the loyal servant gets the delicate job of representing his master as if he were the master himself. In the absence of the master, this loyal and dedicated servant, runs the house.
A great example of ministry is found in Genesis when Abraham sent his servant (minister) to find a wife for his son. He talked in behave of Abraham, gave presents to Laban’s family and brought their daughter Rebbecca with him to marry Abraham’s son.
The servant enjoys of the abundance in the house of his master. The servant is only rewarded when he is loyal and useful to a good master.
The good servant often represents his master and even gives orders under the name of his master. So the minister of God represents him in many occasions and his resolution should be taking as God resolutions.
How we can recognize the servants of God?
Anyone who seek to be served by others, will be small in the kingdom of God. Anyone who make himself a servant of others, will be called big in the kingdom of God.
A good Shepherd (pastor) gives his life for his sheep. The bad one, eats the sheep.
The good messenger does not alter the message to please his audience. The good messenger brings the message as it is.
Let our pride to be, to serve well, to be good servants, to be humble for the sake of the love of God. The Lord has call us to serve, and our glory is to do it well and according to the wish of our Master and Lord.
